Stultz Earns Big East/Aeropostale Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Honor

PROVIDENCE, R.I.--All-America diver Jeremy Stultz garnered the 2007-08 Big East/Aeropostale Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor, as announced by the conference's Academic Affairs Committee on Wednesday. Stultz will be rewarded a $4,000 scholarship for graduate of professional studies because of his dedication to the pool and the classroom. Stultz (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) is a pharmacy major who has served as a team captain of the men's swimming and diving team as a junior and senior, been named a two-time Big East Diver of the Year and a four-time Big East Champion. Last season he won the 3M board at the NCAA Diving Zones and became Pitt's first All-America selection since 1997 with a seventh-place finish on the same board at the 2007 NCAA Championships. A three-time Big East Academic All-Star, Stultz has also earned the Athletic Director's honor roll each year. In addition, he has been on the Dean's list at least once every year, a Pitt Academic Achievement awardee, four-time recipient of the Pitt Gold Club and a two-time recipient of the Pharmacy Dean's Honor list. Stultz extracurricular activities include the Panther Leadership Academy, Panther Leadership Conference, Pitt Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, American Pharmaceutical Association and volunteer work at Passavant Hospital, Shadyside Nursing and Rehabilitation and Matilda Theiss Child Development. Stultz looks to three-peat on the 3M board when the Big East Swimming and Diving Championships begin on Wednesday, Feb. 20, in Long Island, N.Y.
