PITTSBURGH -

The Pitt wrestling team will host the Golden Eagles of Clarion on Wednesday at 7 p.m.  The Panthers defeated North Carolina last week by a score of 20-19.

Against the Tar Heels, the Panthers (12-3, 4-0 EWL) were lead by Keith Gavin, Matt Kocher, and Drew Headlee.  Gavin (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) and Kocher (State College, Pa./State College) are ranked #1 and #7, respectively.

Headlee (Waynesburg, Pa./Waynesburg) competed in the 141 weight class and took the first bout of the day 5-3. Gavin registered his second technical fall of the season, while Kocher garnered a 6-1 decision.

The three All-Americans will be joined by Ryan Bosso (Pequea, Pa./Penn Manor) in the 125 weight class and Dave Sullivan (Dingmans Ferry, Pa./East Stroudsburg) in the 184 matchup, who both earned victories against North Carolina.

The Panthers will look to build off their dual match successes against West Virginia and North Carolina, while Clarion hopes to bounce back after a loss to Lock Haven.

Clarion owns a 21-15 advantage in the all-time series, with three matches ending in a tie, but the Panthers have rattled off six straight victories against the Golden Eagles and will look to make it seven in a row on Wednesday night.
