PITTSBURGH - The 18th-ranked Pitt women's basketball team will travel to Big East rival, and 11th-ranked West Virginia, Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. showdown at the WVU Coliseum.

Pitt is 18-5 overall and 8-2 in Big East play, while the Mountaineers are 19-3 overall and riding an eight-game win streak with an 8-1 record in league action. West Virginia holds a 20-14 advantage in the series, but the Panthers won the most recent meeting in Morgantown with a 62-58 victory on Feb. 19, 2006.

Senior center Marcedes Walker (Philadelphia, Pa./University City) has had a successful career against the Mountaineers as she averages 18.0 points in four games. Last season, she was the game's leading scorer with 21 points and 12 rebounds on the night.

The contest against No. 11 West Virginia continues Pitt's stretch of four out of five games coming against top 25 teams.

Pitt's game at West Virginia can be heard live on www.pittsburghpanthers.com as a part of Panthers All Access or locally on FOX Sports Radio 970 AM with Greg Linnelli and Jen Tuscano calling the action. For those in the West Virginia area, the game will also be a televised broadcast on West Virginia's PBS station.
