HARRISONBURG, Va.--The University of Pittsburgh softball team dropped a 4-1 decision to James Madison in their second game of the James Madison Tournament at JMU Complex. Pitt slipped to 10-10, while the Dukes improved to 10-10 in the contest.

Junior Samantha Card (Miami, Fla./Our Lady of Lourdes/Florida International) scored Pitt's lone run of the game after JMU threw a wild pitch. In the inning, Card also recorded a stolen base.

The game was scoreless till the third inning, where the Dukes scores three runs off one hit and one Pitt error. In fact two of the three runs in that series were unearned for JMU.

The Dukes final run of the game came in the top of the seventh after an outfield error scored a run.

Sophomore Kayla Zinger (Phoenix, Ariz./Sunnyslope) threw the loss, giving up two hits and walking three in three innings.

Senior Mary Hecker (Roseville, Calif./Roseville) added five assists in the game, while classmate Jessica Dignon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) tallied her second steal of the season.

The Panthers face Canisius at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
