RIVERSIDE, Calif.--Junior Kristy Borza of the University of Pittsburgh women's tennis team recorded her 123rd career victory, as she inches closer to the school record. However, the Panthers were shutout 7-0 in their match against San Diego. The Panthers fell to 3-6 on the season.

Pitt's lone win of the day was an 8-7 (1) victory in the No. 1 doubles, where Borza (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) and freshman Elizabeth Adams (Reading, Pa./Wilson) teamed together.

With the win, Borza improved to 123 overall victories and is one win shy of tying for second overall on the all-time list, and three wins shy tying the school record (126).

Borza is 28-13 overall on the season. Just behind her in the chase to the record is senior Carlie Smith (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright), who is fifth overall with 118 career wins.

The Panthers travel to Youngstown State at noon, in a mid-week match on Wednesday, March 19.
