The Providence College swimming and diving teams traveled to Kingston, R.I. on Wednesday, October 31 to take on the University of Rhode Island. The Rams defeated the women's squad, 181-88, while the Friar men fell, 168-85.

Despite the loss, top finishes for the Friars came in multiple events. On the women's side, a lead time of 11:11.91 by freshman Courtney Larcom (Morristown, N.J.) took first place in the 1000-yard freestyle, while junior Blair Flynn (Middletown, R.I.) captured the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.52. Junior Lauren Sepe (Warwick, R.I.) and senior Danielle Matook (Seekonk, Mass.) also had strong showings for the Friars. The duo took first (2:22.83) and second place (2:25.34) in the 200-yard individual medley.

The 200-yard individual medley proved to be a successful event on the men's side as well.
