COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Providence College men's lacrosse team fell to Air Force, 8-7, in overtime on Tuesday, February 26 in Colorado Springs, Colo. It marks the second-straight overtime defeat for the Friars to open the 2008 season. Providence opened the schedule with a 7-6 overtime loss to Fairfield on February 23.

Senior Devin McBride (Marblehead, Mass.) led the Friars with three goals, but Air Force's David Rose trumped McBride and the Friars with a game-high five tallies, including the game-winner with 1:41 left in overtime.

Providence led 3-2 at halftime behind two goals from McBride and one from graduate student Henry Pynchon (Ipswich, Mass.). Air Force responded with a 3-1 scoring advantage in the third quarter, and posted two goals to open the fourth quarter, to take a 7-4 lead with 8:06 left in the game.

The Friars rallied down the stretch, scoring three unanswered goals to force overtime. Graduate student Mark Dillon (Gaithersburg, Md.) got the scoring started with 7:06 remaining in the game. McBride followed with his third goal of the game with 1:51 on the clock. Sophomore Jackson Fallon (Arlington, Mass.) netted the equalizer with a minute left during a man-up situation.

Providence goalkeeper Robert Bryan (Apex, N.C.) played all 63:18 in between the pipes and made nine saves. Brian Wilson also went the distance for Air Force and registered seven saves in the victory.
