PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's lacrosse team will host the Edge Junior Elite Lacrosse team at the Providence College Field Hockey & Lacrosse complex on Friday, October 3rd at 7:30 p.m. in a fall exhibition game. The Friars will face one of the premier developmental lacrosse programs in all of Canada when they host the Edge Junior Elite. The team consists of the top twenty student-athletes from across Southern Ontario. The Edge program is known for developing student athletes into top players and preparing them for Preparatory College and or University in the United States on scholarship. The Providence College men's lacrosse team finished the 2008 season with a share of the MAAC Regular-Season title. It marked the Friars' fourth regular-season title since joining the league in 1996. The 2008-09 season will mark the final year Providence will compete in the MAAC. Providence College will begin play in the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse League in 2010.
