PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Former Providence College men's soccer goalkeeper Chris Konopka `07 signed a professional contract to play with one of the top Irish Clubs, Bohemians FC.

Bohemians FC competes in the Irish Premiere Division and in 2007, the team finished third with a record 16-7-10. Konopka, who was selected in the third round (29th overall) by the Kansas City Wizards in the 2007 Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft, played in 49 games during his four-year career at Providence College. He totalled 12 career shutouts, a 1.17 goals against average and a .777 save percentage. In addition, he set a school mark with 2020:38 minutes played in goal during the 2005 season. He also helped the Friars to two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
