PROVIDENCE, RI - The Providence College Men's and Women's Track & Field teams will compete in the 2008 Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa. from Thursday, April 24th through Saturday, April 26th. Sophomore Breffini Twohig (Dublin, Ireland) will start things off for the Friars in the Women's 3k at 8:20 a.m. Junior Sarah Morgan (Waikato, New Zealand) will follow in the Women's 5k to start at 8:50 a.m. Senior Ahmed Haji (West Hartford, Conn.) will compete first for the Men's team as he takes part in the Men's 5k at 9:10 a.m. Thursday will conclude with sophomore Michael Anderson (Ajax, Ont.) running in the Men's 5k at 9:30 a.m. On Friday, the Men's DMR Championship of America (Event 145) will start at 3:50 p.m. The Friar DMR team will consist of sophomore Hayden McLaren (Christchurch, New Zealand), junior Charles Dewey (Worcester, Mass.), senior James Lourenco (West Warwick, R.I.), and senior Max Smith (Dunedin, New Zealand). On Saturday, the women will compete in the 4x800m relay to start at 2:45 p.m. The team will comprise of junior Katie Elliot (Penfield, N.Y.), junior Katherine Schock (Norwood, Mass.), sophomore Samantha Stadt (Pearl River, N.Y.), and freshman Emma Perron (West Hartford, Conn.). Also on Saturday is the Men's 4x800m Relay at 4:50 p.m. Participating in the 4x800m will be Lourenco, senior Chris McDermott (West Haven, Conn.), Dewey, and Smith.
