Final Stats

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's basketball team concluded its season with a 66-59 loss to Cincinnati on Monday, March 3 at Alumni Hall/Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I. Sophomore Emily Cournoyer (North Attleboro, Mass.) recorded a team-high 19 points and junior Shantee Darrian (Trenton, N.J.) hauled in a game-high 11 boards in the loss.

Providence got out to a 16-point lead (24-8) over the first 10:44 of the game and held a 33-23 lead at halftime. The Friars kept control of the game through much of the second half, and still led by 10 (50-40) with 8:45 left in the game. At the 8:19 mark, the Bearcats started a 13-2 scoring run to take their first lead of the game (53-52) with 3:28 on the clock. Cincinnati held on to the lead with a 13-7 scoring advantage down the stretch to take the seven-point victory.

Kahla Roudebush scored a game-high 22 points for the Bearcats and Jill Stephens posted a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Junior Ashley Etheridge (Portland, Conn.) joined Cournoyer in double figures for the Friars with 11 points. Freshman Mi-Khida Hankins (Baltimore, Md.) and sophomore Kendria Holmes (Charlotte, N.C.) each contributed nine points. Holmes also handed out a game and season-high nine assists. The Friars' 16 assists as a team tied a season high for a single-game. Cournoyer complemented her 19 points with eight rebounds, four blocked shots, one assist and one steal in 30 minutes of action.

Providence finishes the season with a 12-17 record, including a 2-14 mark in the BIG EAST Conference.
