PROVIDENCE COLLEGE (12-7, 4-2 BIG EAST)... The Providence College field hockey team enters Tuesday's non-conference game against Brown with a 12-7 overall record. The Friars are looking to rebound from a 3-1 loss to sixth-ranked Connecticut, in a game that was played on October 27 in Storrs, Conn. PC also is looking to regain some momentum with the BIG EAST Field Hockey Tournament looming on the horizon this weekend.

Junior Meghan Holden (Worcester, Mass.) and senior Michalagh Stoddard (Norwood, Mass.) each have reached the 20-point plateau this season. Holden leads the way with 21 points on six goals and nine assists. Stoddard owns seven goals and six assists. Freshman Julie Ruggieri (Barrington, R.I.) ranks third on the squad with 19 points on a team-high nine goals and one assist. Junior Jessica Lane (South Windsor, Conn.) has recorded 17 points on one goal and a team-high 15 assists. Sophomore Nellie Poulin (Oakland, Maine) and senior Abby Maguire (Southbury, Conn.) round out the players in double figures with 16 points and 13 points, respectively.

Sophomore Rachel Chamberlain (Branford, Conn.) has played 1,271 minutes in goal this season. She has allowed 24 goals and has made 86 saves for a 1.32 goals against average and a 0.782 save percentage. Four of her 12 victories on the season have been shutouts.

The Friars conclude their regular-season schedule with Brown. On November 3-4, Providence will take part in the BIG EAST Conference Field Hockey Championship at J.S. Coyne Field in Syracuse, N.Y. Providence enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face No. 2 seed Louisville at 11:00 a.m. on November 3. Top-seeded Connecticut will face No. 4 seed Syracuse at 1:00 p.m. in the second semifinal game. The winner of each game will play for the BIG EAST Championship and the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament on November 4 at Noon.

BROWN UNIVERSITY (0-15, 0-6 Ivy League)... The Brown University field hockey program enters Tuesday's game against Providence with an 0-15 record. Five of the team's 15 losses have been decided by one goal. Andrea Posa leads the team in scoring with eight points on four goals. Victoria Sacco checks in with seven points on three goals and one assist. Four other members of the roster have scored at least one goal on the year.

Of the Bear's 11 goals this season, eight have been scored in the second half of play. Through 15 games, Brown has been outshot by its opponents, 251-155. Brown's opponents also hold the edge in penalty corners, 133-78.

The Bears started the season with Kristen Hodavance in goal. In 557 minutes, she has allowed 27 goals and has recorded 55 saves for a 3.39 goals against average and 0.671 save percentage. Down the stretch, Brown has turned to freshman Lauren Kessler. In 503 minutes of action, Kessler has made 59 saves and has allowed 18 goals for a 2.50 goals against average and a 0.766 save percentage.
