Nittany Lion Men's Fencing Remains Undefeated in Win Over St. John's

University Park, Pa. - The Penn State men's fencing team brought there "A" game Saturday as they fought through the Red Storm of St. John's in an NCAA dual meet. The Nittany Lions defeated St. Johns by a final score of 16-11 in a close matchup. St. Johns scared Penn State early with a 5-4 defeat in sabre competition with a 5-4 victory in that portion. However, Penn State snapped back with 6-3 wins in epee and foil competition.

On the women's side, the #9 ranked Nittany Lions continued their tough slide with a 17-10 loss to St. Johns. The Red Storm defeated Penn State in all three categories of competition. In foil competition, Penn State was defeated by St. Johns by a score of 5-4. St. Johns also notched the defeat in epee and saber completion winning by a score of 6-3 in each.

Following this weekend's competition, Penn State will compete in the NCAA Mid Atlantic Regionals at Drew University. The NCAA championships begin on March 13.
