WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue football team will wrap up spring practice with its annual Black & Gold Game on Saturday, April 19. The event is free and will be held in Ross-Ade Stadium.

The game starts at noon. Public parking is available in the lots north of the stadium at no charge.

Complimentary roster cards will be available to fans, as will 2008 posters and schedule cards.

Concession stands will be open.

Fans interested in purchasing 2008 season tickets can take part in a "Pick Your Seat" promotion. Select seats will be marked with a "Pick Your Seat" voucher, and fans can take those vouchers to the Athletic Ticket Office on Saturday to purchase tickets and lock in their location.

On Friday and Saturday, Purdue will welcome back many former football players, coaches and managers, including members of the 1997 and 1998 Alamo Bowl championship teams.

Saturday's events begin with Family Fun Fest, which runs from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in Ross-Ade. Gate A, located at the southeast corner of the stadium, will open at 9 a.m. for registration. Family Fun Fest is open to all youth with adult supervision. Youngsters will be able to participate in the following six interactive stations run by the football team:

* Catching a football from the quarterbacks
* Kicking a field goal with the kickers
* Accuracy throw with the wide receivers and running backs
* Dummy tackling with the defensive backs and linebackers
* Obstacle course with the offensive and defensive linemen
* Bouncy house with the special teams

Purdue Pride will have a clearance sale tent set up outside the Team Store at the northeast corner of Ross-Ade, with a wide array of apparel and gifts. The hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 

 

Following the game, all current players will sign autographs on the field. Details will be announced via the public-address system.

The Athletic Ticket Office will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During these hours only, fans can purchase south end zone tickets for the 2008 home opener against Northern Colorado on Sept. 6 for just $5 apiece.

Fans unable to make it to campus can watch the Black & Gold Game in its entirety via the Internet by clicking here for a live web stream. The service will be provided free of charge by the Big Ten Network in conjunction with PlayON! Sports.

A special three and a half hour BIG TEN TONIGHT: SPRING FOOTBALL SHOWCASE, presented by Jimmy John's, will air on the Big Ten Network beginning at 1 p.m. ET and feature live look-ins from Saturday's eight Big Ten spring games.
