HOBOKEN, NJ - In a repeat of their first meeting last December, the men's fencing team fell just short of beating Stevens Tech Sunday, falling 14-13. Despite strong 2-1 performances from team captain Matt Laudicina, Chris Fabio, Dan Convery-Zupan, Sean McGeveran and Charlie Thompson, the Pioneers fell one bout short again.

"We lost three bouts 5-4, any one of which would have put us over the top today," said head coach Dr. Tom Vrabel. "Stevens has a solid, well-balanced team and the match was close all the way. I was very pleased with the performances of Laudicina and Fabio in saber today. While we won the epee 6-3, we needed to dominate them like we did in December to offset their talented foils squad, and it just did not happen today. The team's spirits remain high and I expect them to bounce back in a big way next week at Wellesley".

The Pioneers are back in action next Saturday to close out the conference schedule with six matches at Wellesley College.
