FAIRFIELD, CT - Senior team captain and saberist Matt Laudicina and junior foilist Dan Convery-Zupan both were selected as second team all Northeast Fencing Conference performers this season. This is Laudicina's first selection to an all-league team. Convery-Zupan was a first team selection last year.

"I am very happy for both Matt and Dan," comments head coach Dr. Tom Vrabel. "Matt has been a very hard worker during his four years at SHU and has been a fantastic team captain this past season. It is great to see his dedication rewarded with this accomplishment".

Dan Convery-Zupan earned this award despite missing 20 % percent of the team's bouts due to an eye injury.

"It was a shame that Dan had to suffer that injury during the middle of the conference season," said Vrabel. "These awards are based on the total number of victories earned. Missing out on eight bouts really put him at a disadvantage. His gaining second team status despite his injury makes this accomplishment all the more special. I expect Dan to return to first team status again next season."
