NCAA Central Regional Day 1 Results

COLUMBUS, OH (May 15, 2008) - The Sacred Heart men's golf team wrapped up the first round of the NCAA Central Regional on Thursday afternoon with junior Patrick Fillian (Tinton Falls, NJ) shooting a team-best 76 on the event's first 18 holes. The second round will tee off on Friday morning starting at 7:00 am.

Fillian's five-over 76 placed him tied for 55th overall in the field of 141 golfers. Sophomore Adam Petrasovic (Tecumseh, Ontario) was two strokes off Fillian's day one score with a 78 to sit tied for 87th overall.

Wake Forest's Brendan Gielow is the tournament's leader after shooting a two-under 69. The top-10 teams will advance on to the NCAA Championship.

The Pioneers are 26th after day one with a team score of 316 (+16). Junior Kevin Lauretti (Newington, CT) shot an 80 (+9), junior Matt Belizze (North Salem, NY) shot an 82 (+11) and senior Tommy Campbell (Wall, NJ) carded an 84 (+13).
