Sacred Heart junior Patrick Fillian (Tinton Falls, NJ) was named to the PING All-New England team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) this week. This is the second consecutive season that Fillian has garnered all-region honors after leading the Pioneers to their first-ever Northeast Conference Championship and NCAA Regional berth.

PING All-Region teams consist of the top 15 individuals in their region in the Individual Ranking System. Additionally, any player ranked in the top 75 according to Golfstat or the Sagarin rankings not included in their region's top 15 are added to their All-Region team. Members of the PING All-Region teams are eligible for PING All-America honors.

After a stellar junior season, Fillian turned in a top-notch performance at the NCAA Central Regional at Ohio State, finishing tied for 20th overall in a field of 141 golfers. The NEC Golfer of the Year carded a three round score of 224 (76-71-77) in his first career apperance at the event.

Fillian was a two-time NEC Golfer of the Week honoree and averaged a 74.0 (+3) per round this season on his way to winning the league's top-golfer of the year award. On the season, he fired 25-of-27 sub 80 rounds on his way to six top-10 finishes. He finished tied for second at the New England Championships after firing a two-day total of 143, including a season-low 68 in the opening round of play. The junior matched his season-low with a 68 during the first round of the Northeast Invitational. Fillian led SHU to the NEC title with a second place finish at the conference championships held at the Hershey Links in Hershey, PA. He carded rounds of 71-71-71 for a three-day total of 213
