Fairfield, CT - Head Coach Shaun Hannah has announced the hiring of Dan Muse as a new assistant coach for the Sacred Heart men's ice hockey team. A former letter-winner for Stonehill College, Muse comes to SHU after spending last season as an assistant coach at Williams College.

During his time at Williams, Muse assisted in preparing and executing training and practice plans and worked primarily with the team's group of forwards. He also helped to develop scouting reports and break down video segments using the Gamebreaker software, and assisted with the team's recruiting efforts.

Muse was also an assistant coach at Milton Academy in Massachusetts for two seasons where he assisted in all aspects of the program's operation, both on and off the ice. He has also coached at the Massachusetts Hockey Satellite Training Program and at USA Hockey's Select 14 Development Camps, as well as several other youth camps and training programs throughout Massachusetts.

In addition to his coaching experience, Muse was a special education paraprofessional at Canton High School during the 2005-06 school year and spent the 2007-08 school year teaching social studies at Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree, MA.

Muse is a 2005 graduate of Stonehill College where he earned a BA with a major in criminal justice and a minor in political science and lettered in ice hockey.

Muse served as an assistant captain for the Chieftains as a senior and received the team's most improved player award in 2003. He was named to multiple ECAC Northeast/ Northeast-10 All-Academic Hockey Teams and is a recipient of the Canton (MA) High School Hockey Distinguished Alumni Award (2007).

"We are very excited to have Dan joining our staff and the Sacred Heart University community," Hannah said. "He is very professional, brings a strong work-ethic and knowledge of the game and will compliment our existing staff very well."
