Final Stats

Fairfield, CT - Junior Tim Wagner posted a game high 15 kills and junior Dave Newman added 11 winners to lead Mercyhurst to a 3-0 win over Sacred Heart in men's volleyball action Saturday morning at the Pitt Center. The Lakers posted wins of 30-23, 30-25 and 30-22.

All three games were tightly contested, with Mercyhurst pulling away late. The Pioneers were led by senior Chris Yantz (Setauket, NY) and sophomore Kalani Efstathiou (Beaverton, OR) who each tallied 12 kills in the match. Yantz hit a solid .579. Senior Dan DuVall (Poolesville, MD) had five digs in the match,

In addition to Wagner and Newman, freshman Jonathan Gurr had eight kills for the Lakers while Jordan Pierson had a match high 10 digs. David Hatten also recorded eight digs and a pair of winners.

Sacred Heart is back in action Friday night when they visit Rutgers-Newark in EIVA play. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
