FAIRFIELD, Conn. (Febraury 18, 2008) - Junior women's basketball player Stephanie Ryan (Coram, NY) was named the Sacred Hear / Enterprise Rent-A-Car Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of February 11th through 17th.

Junior Stephanie Ryan led the Pioneers to a pair of victories last week, averaging 15.0 points and 10.0 rebounds. Ryan played all 40 minutes, recording her 7th double double of the season with 15 points and a career high 15 rebounds in a 64-55 win over Monmouth at home, clinching the Pioneers their ninth-straight trip to the NEC Tournament. Ryan also added five assists, tying a career-high, with two steals in the win. The junior came back on Saturday and led SHU to a run away win over SFPA, 68-36, with another 15 point outing. Ryan scored the first seven points of the game as the Pioneers never looked back in the win. She finished the week shooting 57.1% from the field and 50.0% behind the arc. She leads the Pioneers in rebounding on the year with 8.2 caroms a game and is second at 12.0 ppg.
