LAUREL, MD - The women's bowling team went 6-0 on the second day of the Bowie State Invitational on Sunday, finishing a perfect 11-0 in head-to-head competition for the weekend. However, the team's total pinfall of 10014 placed them fourth in the overall standings. The Pioneers fell just short of the University of Maryland-Eastern Shores total of 10028, New Jersey City's 10169, and 10517 by tournament champion Fairleigh Dickinson.
During match one against St. Paul's on Sunday, Sarah Pelletier led the team with a 244 game along with Amanda Lulu's 230 for a convincing 1044 -707 victory.
Match two against Virginia State University, featured a 226 from Jamie Manzo along with 221's from Alice Kessler and Sarah Pelletier, as the Pioneers won easily 1028 -776.
In match three against host Bowie State, Lulu came on strong throwing a 226 game, followed by Marissa Gagliardi's 213 game in a 990-859 win.
Against Coppin State in match four, Pelletier shot a 223 in a 937-637 rout. Match five was an easy 950-547 win over Cheyney State, led by Danielle Cocks with a 224 and a 211 from Gagliardi.
In the last match, Pelletier shot a 234, along with Gagliardi's 204, beating Kutztown State 1000-790.
Pelletier was named to the All-Tournament Team, averaging 211 for the day. Next high for the Pioneers was Danielle Cocks with a 205 average for the three matches she competed in.

The Pioneers are now 47-10 (.824) on the season. The team leaves Thursday for their fourth tournament of the year at Arkansas State University against one of the largest and strongest tournament fields this season.
