2008 NEC Championship Day Two Results
DADE CITY, Fla. (April 26, 2008) - The Sacred Heart women's golf team remained in second place after the second round of the Northeast Conference Championship, shooting a team score of 330 during Saturday's 18-hole. The Pioneers are two-strokes behind leader Fairleigh Dickinson after two-days with a combined score of 656.
SHU holds a 15 stroke advantage over Central Connecticut in third (671) and an 18 stroke edge on Saint Francis (PA) in fourth (674). The final 18 holes will be contested on Sunday at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club.
Junior Jennifer Tierney (Danbury, CT) moved up to fifth on the leader board after firing an 81 on Saturday. Her two-day score of 163 (82-81) has her 11 strokes in back of the tournament leader, Lucie Sarochova from CCSU (152).
Senior Lauren Foster (Newington, CT) was the Pioneer's big mover on day two, jumping from 17th into a tie for ninth with a Saturday score of 80, the low SHU round of the day. Junior Jillian Nery (New Bedford, MA) is all alone in 14th with a two-round score of 167 after shooting an 86 on Saturday. Fellow junior Joanne Martorana (Randolph, NJ) fell 16th after her strong first round, shooting a 91. Senior Patricia Heyes (Durobin, Ontario) took 11 strokes off her day one score of 94 to fire an 83 on her second 18.

The championship will wrap-up on Sunday with tee times starting at 7:40 am. The Pioneers are looking for their first-ever NEC Championship.
