Fairfield, CT - The Sacred Heart swimming team won 11 of 13 events and set a new school record in the 800 yard freestyle relay enroute to a 122-75 victory over St. Peter's Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers posted 15 individual best times during the meet.
The quartet of Molly McDonald (Sag Harbor, NY), Jackie Balder (Levittown, NY), Johannah Kos (Feeding Hills, MA) and Adriana Morgan (Poughkeepsie, NY) combined for a time of 8:16.84 in the 800 freestyle relay, breaking the previous school record mark of 8:18.84 which had been set during the 2004 season.
McDonald took first place in the 50 yard freestyle and 500 yard freestyle. She posted a time of 5:24.34 in the 500 and then turned in a time of 27.22 in the 50 yard event. Freshman Amanda Mason (Dexter, ME) won the 1000 yard freestyle while Balder took the 200 yard free. Kos was first in the 400 yard IM while freshman Katie Marshall (Cumberland, RI) won the 100 yard butterfly.
The Pioneers visit Western Connecticut Friday afternoon for a dual meet. The meet is set for a 4:00 pm start.
