West Windsor, NJ - The Sacred Heart tennis teams each posted victories in their consolation matches at the Northeast Conference tournament Saturday. The Pioneer men topped Wagner, 4-0, while the women's team defeated Saint Francis (PA), 4-0.

Sacred Heart claimed the doubles point by winning two matches, dropping just one game in the process. In singles action, freshman Michael Syer defeated Wagner's Ben Serbiak 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. while classmate Jinal Shah took down Byron Clohessy 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. SHU's Bryan Rodgers defeated Will Shuler by an identical 6-0, 6-1 score at No. 5 singles to clinch the match for the Pioneers.

On the women's side, the Pioneers won the doubles point, dropping just two games in the process. Junior Mandy Finklestein won her number three doubles match, 8-1, and then went on to take the number six singles tilt 6-0, 6-0. Freshmen Elizabeth Harrington and Darcy Demers both won their singles matches in straight sets.
