Three Samford Track Athletes Start Off Alabama Relays On Good Note

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ---- The Samford track team began competition in the Alabama Relays Friday afternoon hosted by the University of Alabama. The Bulldogs competed in the 10,000-meter race, all finishing in the top seven while two ran personal bests.

Sophomore Lauren Pilcher took third in the women's event, running a personal best of 39:52.27 while Bo Brawner placed fourth in the men's event with a personal best 32:42.79. Patrick Ollinger finished seventh with a time of 35. 22.46.

Samford will continue competition Saturday with the bulk of the running events. The men's hammer throw starts things off at 8 a.m. while things conclude at with the men's 400-meter dash at 5:25 p.m.
