BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford baseball team will play at the University of Alabama Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

The Bulldogs are currently 6-5 after sweeping a three-game series from Miami of Ohio over the weekend. The Bulldogs won the games by scored of 6-5, 6-5 in 10 innings and 13-6.

Michael Marseco leads the Bulldogs with a .386 batting average, and he is second on the team with 10 RBI. Marcus Rodriguez is the team-leader in RBI with 13. Rodriguez and Bear Burnett share the team lead in home runs with two each.

Jonathan Stephens (1-0, 3.94 ERA), David Knapp (1-1, 4.70 ERA) and Joshua Vanfleteren (1-0, 5.56 ERA) have led the pitching staff so far.

The Crimson Tide enters the week with a record of 7-5. Prior to Wednesday night's game, Alabama plays at North Alabama Tuesday evening.

Brandon May leads Alabama at the plate, batting .419 with 14 RBI. Austin Hyatt (2-0, 2.21 ERA) has led the pitching staff so far.

Under head coach Casey Dunn, Samford is 2-2 against Alabama. Last season, the Bulldogs took both meetings between the two teams. Samford won, 4-3 in 10 innings on March 14 in Birmingham, and again by a score of 5-2 on April 25 in Tuscaloosa.
