BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - Samford pitcher Michael Jarry was named the Ohio Valley Conference's Pitcher of the Week when the league released its weekly baseball awards on Monday.

Jarry pitched his first complete game in a Samford uniform in Sunday's 11-1 win over Eastern Illinois. In the game, Jarry allowed one unearned run on just three hits. He struck out four batters in the game, while walking none.

Jarry held the EIU hitters to a .097 batting average, and he allowed no extra-base hits in the win.

For the season, Jarry has a record of 2-2 and an ERA of 4.76. He has recorded 30 strike outs, with only nine walks in 51.0 innings of work.
