Three Samford Baseball Players Named To All-Star Teams

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Three members of the Samford baseball team have recently been named to Summer League All-Star teams. Tripp Swann, Joe Durham and Stewart Young all made the All-Star teams in their respective leagues.

Swann is playing for the Haymarket Senators in the Valley League. The Valley League All-Star game was played Sunday night in Covington, Va. In the game Swann reached base on a walk and was 0-for-1 at the plate. For the season, Swann is batting .280 with six doubles and 12 RBI.

Durham and Young both play for the Niagara Power of the New York Collegiate Baseball League. The NYCBL All-Star game will be played Monday night at 7 p.m. in Watertown, N.Y.

Durham is currently batting .307 for the Power. He leads the team in triples with four and in RBI with 13. Young is currently batting .244 with five RBI.
