LAFAYETTE, La. ---- The Samford men's tennis team finally picked up its second win Saturday in a 6-1 decision over Louisiana-Lafayette. The Bulldogs now improve to 2-5 on the season.

Jordan Delass led off at the No. 1 position, defeating Janusz Conradi, 6-2, 6-4. Renan Silveira won at the No. 2 court over Piotrek Olechowski, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2, while Hank Grant beat Arlen Domoney, 6-3, 6-2, at the No. 3 spot. No. 4 player Sam Huffman defeated Ryan Hess, 6-0, 7-5, while Brian Dushock fell to Jorge Delgado (6-3, 6-2) at the No. 5 spot and Richard Walsh defeated Stefan Hawkins (6-4, 7-5) at the No. 6 position.

Samford won the doubles point, taking two out of three matches. No. 1 duo Delass/Silveira defeated Conradi/Hess, 8-4, while No. 2 tandem Grant/Huffman beat Olechowski/Delgado, 8-4. Oliver Reynolds and Carl Abalos fell to Domoney/Hawkins, 8-5, at the No. 3 spot.

The Bulldogs begin Ohio Valley Conference play Wednesday as they take on in-state rival Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Ala. Match play begins at 1:30 p.m.
