London Earns OVC Freshman Of The Week Honors For Fourth Time This Season :: London averaged 19.5 points per game in Samford's two games last week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Samford freshman guard Emily London was named the Ohio Valley Conference's Freshman of the Week, when the league released its weekly women's basketball awards on Monday.

In two games last week, London averaged 19.5 points per game to lead the Bulldogs. She made 66.7 percent (12-of-18) of her shots from the floor and 80 percent (8-of-10) from three-point range. She scored 18 points Thursday night at Tennessee Tech, and she had a career-high 21 points Saturday at Murray State.

For the season, London leads the team in scoring, averaging 12.5 points per game. London ranks second in the OVC in three-point field goal percentage (49.1%) and fourth in the league in field goal percentage (51.8%). She is also second on the team in assists, dishing out 2.4 assists per game.

This marks the fourth time this season London has been named the conference's Freshman of the Week. She also received the honor on Jan. 2, Jan. 21 and Feb. 11.

London and the Bulldogs will wrap up the regular season with two road games this week. The team will play at Southeast Missouri Thursday at 5 p.m., and at Eastern Illinois on Saturday, also at 5 p.m.
