London Earns Fifth OVC Freshman Of The Week Honor

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the fifth time this season, Samford freshman guard Emily London was named the Ohio Valley Conference's Freshman of the Week, when the league released its weekly women's basketball awards on Monday.

In two games last week, London averaged 14.0 points and 3.5 assists per game. She led the team with 18 points in Thursday's 73-50 win at Southeast Missouri, and she scored 10 points in Saturday's loss at Eastern Illinois.

For the season, London leads the team in scoring, averaging 12.6 points per game, and she is second on the team in assists, dishing out 2.5 assists per contest.

London currently ranks second in the OVC in three-point field goal percentage (50.0%) and fourth in the league in field goal percentage (51.7%).

London was also named the league's Freshman of the Week on Jan. 2, Jan. 21, Feb. 11 and Feb. 25.

London and the Bulldogs will play host to Eastern Kentucky in an OVC Tournament first round game Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Pete Hanna Center.
