BRASELTON, Ga. --- The Samford women's golf team found itself at second place after two rounds in the Larry Nelson Collegiate Invitational hosted by Kennesaw State at the Chateau Elan Course in Braselton, Ga. The Bulldogs sit just two strokes out of the lead, shooting 621 in the first two rounds.

The Samford women were in second after the first round, shooting 313, and improved five strokes to hold on to their second place spot. South Alabama leads the field of 17 teams with Samford just two strokes behind. Chattanooga follows in third while Louisiana-Monroe (4th) and Belmont (5th) round out the top five.

Katelyn Stanier leads the Bulldog five as she sits in a tie for seventh place after the first two rounds. Stanier shot 75 in round one and 78 in round two to finish the first day with a total score of 153. Sara Hunt and Maria Troche are tied in 12th place, shooting 155. Heather Arnold joins Stanier, Hunt and Troche in the top 20 as she is tied for 20th place, shooting 158. Courtney Warr shot 168 in day one which puts her in a tie for 57th place.
