Women's Tennis Looks To Extend Win Streak Over Tennessee State

April 8, 2008

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford women's tennis team will travel to Nashville, Tenn., Wednesday, March 9, along with the Samford men to participate in an Ohio Valley Conference match-up against the Tigers of Tennessee State. The Bulldog women look to extend their conference win streak to seven with a victory over the Tigers.

Samford (14-5, 6-0 OVC) go into Wednesday's match after going 3-0 last weekend against three conference opponents. The Bulldogs swept Murray State on Friday, 7-0, then defeated Eastern Illinois and Southeast Missouri Saturday and Sunday, 6-1.

Tennessee State (0-9, 0-8 OVC) are winless this season, losing all nine of their spring matches including eight against conference opponents.

Match play between the Bulldog women and the Tiger women begins at 1 p.m. at the TSU Tennis Couts.
