Andrew Ninow, who is a native of Sacramento, was a 2007 graduate of UCLA where he majored in Biochemistry and spent three years as an athlete on a program that perennially produces the nation's elite throwers. In his three years at UCLA, Ninow was a two time PAC-10 participant and two time Western Regional Qualifier. In the 2007 NCAA Western Regional, Ninow placed 8th in the hammer throw, an event that he has a personal best of 207'4.
"Andrew comes from an athletic environment of excellence at the highest level," said Head Track and Field coach Helen Lehman-Winters. "He brings tremendous technical knowledge and experience to our program and is very excited about building a solid throws program here at USF. He is a perfect fit for our program and we look forward to the development in this event area."
Ninow, who resides in Dublin, CA with his wife Kristen, spent last fall as an assistant throws and weightlifting coach for the Bruins and will bring his vast experience to a program that will be starting its second official season.
"I am honored to be welcomed into the historic USF community," said Ninow. "I can't wait to make some history with this young and talented track and field program."
