SCOUTING REPORT - WEEK 7 GAME #29-31 - LMU LIONS (16-12, 3-0 WCC) SCOUTING LOYOLA MARYMOUNT: With an experienced and deep infield, the reigning WCC Freshman of the Year roaming the outfield, a strong pitching staff that includes seven upperclassmen arms and key new additions, the 2008 LMU baseball team hopes to finish near the top of the heap in the competitive West Coast Conference. The Lions currently lead the WCC with a 3-0 mark, and are 16-12 overall. Leading the way is sophomore infielder Ryan Wheeler who is batting .353 (36-102) with eight doubles, one triple, two homeruns, 22 RBI, 23 runs scored and three stolen bases. On the mound, junior RHP Mike Kenney is 5-1, 5.50 ERA in six starts. He has 21 strikeouts in 31 innings. Head coach Frank Cruz is in his 12th season at the helm for LMU, and has amassed a 322-336-3 career record in Los Angeles.
