Justin Bauman enters his first season at USF after spending two seasons at Florida Atlantic with current Dons head coach Rex Walters.
Bauman brings hands-on experience with student-athletes at the major Division I level. Prior to joining the FAU staff for the 2006-07 season, he worked at the University of Kansas from 2000 to 2006, serving as a student manager for three seasons before being promoted to head manager and student assistant coach for the next three seasons.
As head manager under Bill Self from 2003 to 2006, Bauman assisted with on-campus recruiting, practices, scouting reports and team travel. He oversaw the student support staff and all aspects of the team's equipment and apparel needs.
From 2000 to 2003, Bauman assisted Roy Williams' staff with gameday and practice operations. While at Kansas, Bauman was part of four Big XII regular-season championships, one postseason Big XII championship, two Final Fours and six-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. He also coached and directed summer camps.
Bauman played collegiate basketball for one season at Lincoln (IL) College, where he earned honors as a scholar-athlete.
A native of Canton, IL, Bauman graduated from Kansas with a bachelor's degree in sports management and fitness in 2004 and a master's degree in sports studies in 2006.
