Marshall Earns Second League Honor

Jan. 30, 2008

FRISCO, Texas - For the second time in as many weeks, sophomore thrower Frednisha Marshall has been named Southland Conference Female Track and Field Athlete of the Week. It marks the second honor for Marshall, and the third time this season that an SFA athlete has received the award.

The Tyler, Texas, native once again dominated the women's weight throw event. Marshall won the Razorback Invitational individual title in the event with a throw of 60-1.75. Marshall's throw outdistanced the rest of the competition by more than three feet. Less than 24 hours later, she was right back on the field competing in the women's shot put. Marshall recorded a throw of 45-1.50 to finish sixth overall.

The SFA track and field team returns to action Friday when they travel to Houston, Texas, to compete in the Houston Invitational and Multis. The two-day meet will run through Saturday.
