SLC Tournament Tickets Now on Sale

FRISCO, Texas - Tickets for the 2008 Southland Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championships, which will be held March 12-16 at the Merrell Center in Katy, Texas, are now on sale through the SFA Ticket Office. Each institution has an allotment of tournament tickets in its reserved courtside seating section during the event. Fans can purchase tickets by calling the SFA Ticket Office at (936) 468-JACK.

Reserved ticket packages for all 14 games are $75. Daily reserved and general admission tickets for afternoon and evening sessions will be available later when tournament seeding is known. Reserved session tickets with two games are $18, while championship game tickets are $12. General admission tickets are $15 for two-game sessions and $10 for championship days. Children five and under and Southland Conference students with a valid student ID are admitted free of charge.

The tournament opens with four women's quarterfinal games on Wednesday, March 12, followed by the men's quarterfinals on Thursday, March 13. The semifinals for women and men will be played Friday, March 14.

The women's championship game will be held on Saturday, March 15, and will be televised live on Fox Sports Net Southwest. The men's title game follows on Sunday, March 16 and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.

The Lumberjacks enter the with a 19-3 (.864) overall record, and tops in the SLC West Division with a 7-2 (.778) conference mark. The Ladyjacks are 7-14 (.333) overall, and fifth in the SLC West with a 4-5 (.444) conference mark.

The 'Jacks host Central Arkansas Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the William R. Johnson Coliseum, while the Ladyjacks will be in Conway, Ark., Thursday evening to face the Sugar Bears. The game against UCA is slated to begin at 7 p.m. from the Farris Center.
