Chuck Long Announces San Diego State Football Coaching Staff Changes

Feb. 7, 2008

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State head coach Chuck Long announced Thursday changes to the Aztec football coaching staff for the upcoming year. Defensive line coach Joe Bob Clements has taken a similar position at the University of Kansas, while linebackers coach William Inge will move on to the University of Cincinnati, where he will also work with the linebackers.

"We appreciate what coach Clements and coach Inge have done for us the past two seasons at San Diego State," Long said. "Two top-25 BCS teams have noticed their work here and people have recognized the progress our staff has made so far in building this Aztec football program. We wish them the best in the future."

Clements returns to his home state to work under Jayhawks' head coach Mark Mangino, who was an assistant at Kansas State where Clements played from 1994-98. Inge, meanwhile, joins Brian Kelly's staff at Cincinnati.
