SDSU Travels North For 36-Hole Kitahara Fresno State Invite
After a week off since starting their 2008 spring campaign, the San Diego State women's golf team travels north for a quick trip to the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational, Feb. 25-26, in Fresno, Calif. The Aztecs are participating in the tournament at the par-72, 6,008-yard Copper River Country Club for the third consecutive season, placing 16th in 2007 and 15th in 2006.

SDSU will be facing 15 other schools, including Boise State, Colorado State, Hawai'i, Kansas, Long Beach State, USF, Nevada, New Mexico State, Fresno State, Sacramento State, Santa Clara, Tulsa, UC Davis, UC Irvine and Portland State. The event features 18 holes of golf each day with scheduled tee times, set to begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday off the No. 1 and 10 holes. Live scoring will be available at both golfstat.com and goaztecs.com.

Three Freshmen Among Starting Five In Fresno
Aztec head coach Felicia Brown will bring three freshmen, one redshirt sophomore and a junior to this week's event in Fresno.

The true freshmen include Stephanie Arcala (Oceanside, Calif.), Kaitlen Miyajima (Wailuku, Hawaii) and Samantha Roberts (Carlsbad, Calif.) and will be joined by Petra Cole (San Diego, Calif.) and co-captain Jackie Kazarian (Dana Point, Calif.).

Arcala, Miyajima, Kazarian and Cole were the top four finishers at the Lady Braveheart Classic two weeks ago. Kazarian, meanwhile, is the only Aztec with previous experience at the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational, placing 71st with a 16-over 160 last year.
