McPartland Named to Mountain West 10th Anniversary Volleyball Team

Former Aztec honored for standout four-year career at SDSU

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Former San Diego State standout Aspen McPartland has been named to the Mountain West Conference 10th anniversary women's volleyball team as selected by a combined panel of media, institutional and conference personnel and online fan poll.

McPartland, a native of San Diego (Grossmont HS), was a four-year letterwinner as a middle blocker for the Aztecs from 2000-03. A two-time all-Mountain West Conference first-team selection, she was named the league's co-Player of the Year as a junior in 2002. In addition, she was named to the all-MWC Tournament squad three times.

McPartland still ranks among the SDSU career leaders in four categories. Her total of 1,319 kills is the 10th-most in school history while her 398 block assists ranks third on the Aztec career list. In addition, her 1,076 digs and 276 blocking points place her sixth and ninth respectively in those categories. She also tallied 391 digs in 2002, the eighth-best single-season total in SDSU history.

Anniversary teams will be chosen for each of the 19 conference-sponsored sports during the 2008-09 seasons in celebration of the Mountain West's 10th anniversary.
