Redhawks Track and Field Claim Weekly OVC Accolades

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -

Miles Smith and John Berry have been honored by the Ohio Valley Conference for their performances last weekend as they were named OVC Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the conference announced earlier today.

Smith claimed the 400-meter title at the 2008 Sea Ray Relays in a time of 45.84. The time is currently the fourth best in the nation.

Berry placed fifth in the long jump at Sea Ray


Berry posted a fifth place leap of 25-01.25 at Sea Ray Relays. His mark is a career and OVC best this season, and is currently ranked 17th in the nation.

Smith, Berry and the entire team will have more track and field action when they compete at the University of Arkansas on Friday and Saturday.
