Redhawks at Drake Relays

Des Moines, Iowa - Track athletes from Southeast Missouri State ran in four relays at the world famous Drake Relays on Friday with the men's 4 X 200-meter relay finishing 9th in the talented field.

The relay team of Miles Smith, Ryan Criglar, Robert Delaria and Chris Poindexter timed 1:28.19 in the preliminaries of the 4 X 200-meter relay and came back with a time of 1:28.25 in the finals to place ninth. The same quartet ran 3:13.51 in the 4 X 400-meter prelims, failing to qualify for the finals.

The Southeast women's 4 X 400-meter relay team of Melina Lewis, Sytymill Conley, Ore Ibe and Whitney Thomas timed 4:02.25 in the preliminaries but did not advance to the finals. The Redhawks women's 4 X 100-meter relay team was disqualified.

On Saturday at Drake, John Berry will compete in the long jump and Bilal Hameed will triple jump. The remainder of the Southeast track teams will compete in a meet at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
