TIP-OFF: Entering the final two weeks of the season, Southeast Missouri State women's basketball opens a four-game homestand at the Show Me Center Wednesday night with an Ohio Valley Conference contest against Austin Peay beginning at 7:30 p.m. Calling the game live on the radio at ESPN/1220 AM will be Erik Sean (Play-by-Play) and Jess Bolen (Color) in addition to being broadcast on the internet at OVCSports.tv.

SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS: Southeast brings a 19-6 overall record and a 14-2 conference mark into this week's slew of games. The Redhawks ended last week with a 53-43 win at UT Martin in their regular-season road finale. Leading Southeast is senior forward/center Missy Whitney with 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per contest, while junior guard/forward Sonya Daugherty is second on the squad in scoring at 13.1 points a game. Ranking first on the team in assists (3.0 apg) and steals (2.1 spg) is junior guard Tarina Nixon who has also connected on a team-leading 81 percent of her attempts from the free-throw line.

SCOUTING THE LADY GOVS: Austin Peay enters the week sporting a season ledger of 5-20 to go along with a 2-14 record versus OVC competition. The Lady Govs begin a four-game road trip this week after dropping a 69-52 decision to Tennessee Tech last Saturday in their regular-season home finale. Sophomore center Janay Armstrong, a transfer from West Virginia, leads APSU with 11.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. Freshman guard/forward Ashley Herring is averaging 10.5 points and 1.5 assists per game in her first collegiate season. Herring is the younger sister of Southeast men's basketball player Jaycen Herring. Senior point guard Ashlee McGee leads the OVC in assists with an average of 4.9 helpers per game. Carrie Daniels is currently in her second season as head coach for Austin Peay and has produced a 15-40 record at her alma mater.

SERIES HISTORY: The Redhawks have tallied a 21-15 all-time series lead over Austin Peay and have claimed wins in six of the last eight meetings since 2004-05. Southeast captured the season's first meeting with the Lady Govs on Jan. 12 by a score of 70-54 in Clarksville, Tenn. The Redhawks posted a pair of victories at the Show Me Center last year by an average of 7.5 points per game that included a 67-56 win during the regular season.

BENCH SUPPORT: Southeast's reserve players have outscored opposing teams by an average of 0.6 points a game this year and is averaging 14.9 points per contest. Juniors Crysta Glenn (91 - 5.7 ppg) and Tierra Johnson (68 - 2.7 ppg) have been the biggest contributors off the bench for the Redhawks.

WE'RE COMING HOME AGAIN: The Redhawks return to the Show Me Center this week close out the year with a four-game homestand which is the longest this season. Southeast currently holds an 8-3 record at the SMC and is 4-2 against OVC opponents.

ASHLEY'S DOUBLE UP: Southeast is 6-1 in games when senior guard Ashley Lovelady scores in double figures this season after she tallied 10 points at UT Martin last Saturday. The Redhawks have produced a 15-4 mark last year when Lovelady posted double-digit scoring efforts.

UP NEXT: The Redhawks are back in action Saturday night at the Show Me Center as they host Eastern Kentucky in an OVC match-up with the tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
