Southeast Gymnastics Earns GymInfo National Rankings

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State gymnastics has earned a No.23 ranking in this week's GymInfo National Poll released this morning. The Redhawks have also moved into seventh place in the South Central Regional poll and first place in the Midwest Independent Conference.

The Redhawks (2-0, 1-0 MIC) posted a team score of 192.625 last week in a defeat of the former No.18 Kentucky Wildcats and scored a 194.450 this week against conference foe Illinois State. In addition to the overall ranking, Southeast is ranked in the top 25 in three events as a team; vault-No.22, balance beam-No.24 and floor exercise-No.23.

The Redhawks are back in action this Saturday as they host No.31 University of Iowa. The meet will be in Houck Field House with a start time of 2:00 p.m.
