Marietta, Ga. - The Shorter College Hawks held a 2-0 lead after the top of the first of their contest against No. 7 Southern Poly on the road Friday afternoon. Momentum quickly shifted to the Running Hornets however as they went on to a 17-7 win in the Southern States Athletic Conference contest. Shorter scored five runs in the fifth but Southern Poly was already ahead 11-2 and coasted from there. Dustan Cantrell went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Hawks (7-13, 2-5) while Tyson Martin went 1-for-1 with a two RBI single. The Hawks postponed today's scheduled doubleheader with Southern Poly (19-3, 6-1) until Sunday due to the predicted winter weather forecast. |
