Rome, Ga. - The Shorter College Hawks basketball team soared over the Emmanuel Lions on Saturday evening, 77-52, to 18-7 overall, 9-5 conference. This was Shorter's last home game of the season and three seniors on the team, Jairus Jackson, Larry Savage and Kedric Wilson, were recognized before the game. The Hawks blew past Emmanuel in the first half, shooting 6-for-11 on three pointers, to go up 36-19 at the half. In the second half, 12 of Shorter's 41 points came from the free throw line out of 15 attempts. Tomas Pranciliauskas was the lead scorer for Shorter with 22 points and was followed by Fred Christopher with 13, Savage with 11, and Wilson with 10. Both Christopher and Wilson had double-doubles, earning 10 rebounds a piece. A total 16 players saw action for the Hawks. "It was good to get a strong win to end out our season at home," said head coach Chad Warner. "Our team continues to go out and play hard and make big plays to put us ahead." Shorter will travel to cross-town rival Berry College on Monday night for an 8 p.m. tip-off. |
