Shorter football prepares for third annual Blue & White Scrimmage

The Blue and White game will have free admission and the public is encouraged to attend.

March 4, 2008

Rome, Ga - The Shorter College football team will hold their third annual Blue and White Scrimmage game on March 8 at Barron Stadium, beginning at 10 a.m.

The coaches will split up evenly amongst the blue and white jerseys of the Shorter Hawks, for a four-quarter full-pads game. The scrimmage, held every year at the end of the spring practices, allows the coaches to see what each player has accomplished since the end of the fall and winter season.

"This is a fun event each year that allows us to see individual and team progress over the past few weeks," said head coach Phil Jones. "Everyone gets a chance at action on the field, and to show the coaches what they can do."

The Blue and White game will have free admission and the public is encouraged to attend.

Following the game, the players, new Shorter signees and possible recruits, will enjoy a hot dog and hamburger luncheon in Shorter College's dining hall. A booster club meeting will also be held in conjunction with the day's activities. For booster club information, please visit hawksbooster.com.
