Rome, Ga. - The Shorter men opened the season with a 9-0 victory over Gadsden State on Saturday afternoon at the Walt Attaway Tennis Complex.

In singles, the winners were: Henrique Tomas (6-2, 6-1); Quentin Grieu (6-1, 6-1); Josh Lewis (6-3, 6-1); Jordan Hubbard (6-1, 6-3); Murdoch Ruth (6-3, 6-0); and Zack Highfield (6-2, 6-2).

In doubles, the winners were: Juliano Cirimbelli and David Araiza (8-1); Grieu and Tomaz (8-2), and Highfield and Drew Cash (8-7).

Shorter visits Emory University on Feb. 16.
